Write for the ear, not the eye
Sentences that read well on a page often sound stiff when spoken. Keep sentences short, use contractions and read every line out loud before generating audio.
Use punctuation as direction
Commas create small pauses, full stops create longer ones and question marks lift the pitch. Treat punctuation as stage directions for the voice.
Spell out tricky words
Product names, acronyms and numbers can be read in more than one way. Write them the way you want them pronounced, or use the pronunciation dictionary to lock them in.
A few minutes of editing usually saves several rounds of regeneration, and the final audio feels noticeably more natural.
